Default Can't get timing right........????

I have a 2nd. Gen. B16 in a 93 civic dx hatch.

Well, my timing is very advanced and I can't get it right.

I put it at TDC, used a timing light, and jumped the ecu.
I also tried retarding the distributor side, but that didn't work.
It was still advanced about 5 degrees or so.

The motor is also idling really high (2100) then goes down
to around 1300-1500 when car is warmed up.

If anyone has any suggestions please help!

are you talking about ignition timing? if you are and you can't retard your dist. enough to get it to 15 (+-2) then your exhaust cam must be advanced. check on that. do u have adjustable cam pulleys?

also, if your idle is that high, then that will advance your ignition, so you need to get your idle down to see what your base timing really is. anything over 750rpm will have ignition advance put in by the ecu.

we pulled the valve cover off and checked all of the timing marks, the cam gears are still set at 0 and al of the crank and cam gear marks were lining up perfectly. What can we do to get the idle down far enough to set the timing right?

Turn the idle adjust screw. You will have to disconnect the IAC valve's electronic clip for it to make any changes.
