Default Can I run 9 to 1 without a problem?

I want to rebuild my B16A with forged pistons and rods. I plain to run 9 to 1 and want to break the motor in before I put the turbo on. Can I just run the stock computer without any problems? Should I get a block guard and balance the internals? Also, what do you guys think of IB slugs and Eagle rods? I plain to run 10-12 psi down the road with hondata. For the time being I will just do 7-8 with an FMU. Thanks!!!

yeah it's not high compression, so i don't think you will have any problems running on stock fuel maps. It's always good to spend the extra on balancing all the internals and a block guard never hurts during boosting. Eagle rods are good, never heard anything bad about them.

its prob better to break in the motor running low boost like 2-3 psi then slowly go up. It will allow the rings to seat better then if you try to do NA then boost it.

I'll take your word for it but that sound strange to me. Why do the rings seat better with boost? Also, I don't think I'll be able to get 2-3 psi at a low rpm. Maybe.... but I doubt it. Breaking the car in I've hear you need to keep rpm's down below 3,000rpm's. (at first) slowly raising the rpm as the engine wears in. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The rings will seat better becuase during the first few thousand miles the rings will take shape and you want them to be used to the pressure on them from the boost. Just turn your boost controler all the way down and run it for a while. The turbo will natrually spool about 2-3psi depending on what setup you got

I ran 10psi daily on a hondata tuned B16a2 w/ stock internals. 10.2 compression
