if i replace the oem camshaft of d16y8 with a wild cam.. or crower stage 1...
is the vtec point goin to change and even the sound when vtec kicks in.?

 

The ECU activates VTEC. So if you don't change the ECU, then VTEC will engage at the same rpm with any cam you put in there.

Will it change the sound? That's not something I have ever concerned myself with.

 

u mean changing it to po8 rechipped? cutoff would also be changed right?

if that's what you're concerned about, you're doing cams for the wrong reason.

You should get a Zex cam. It will sound nice and loud until it eats up your rockers.

but to answer the question.... yea by changing the overlap and the lift it will change how the engine resonates and thus be louder, but in that case why don't you by that speaker that attaches to you tps and give you a whoosh sound when you let off the gas
