Default Calling on all mechanics

Here is a question I've been unable to get an answer for in the 3 or 4 months I've been asking.

My car is a 98 DX sedan.....yeah yeah...I know....I've considered saving for an engine swap, which is about the only thing that is gonna give my car any speed. But I want to have some fun in the meantime. I've been considering getting a cat back exhaust just to fulfill my modding needs. Here's my dilemma. In my year and trim, the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter are welded together I believe. Supposedly 5Zigen (fireball) and tanabe (R. Medallion) make "cat back" systems for my car, but they are probably more like aftercat systems. I've thought about getting an aftermarket header and high flow cat - but there doesn't seem to be a header for my car. What do you guys recommend doing? Somebody told me to get the exhaust manifold from the EX of the same year..but the EX is a VTEC so I don't know about that. Any suggestions or knowledge would help.

Note: I don't want to hear "save the money and put it towards your engine swap" because I'M AWARE OF THAT.

Okay...lemme get this out of the way before somebody else does ---->

Okay there....fire away folks.

AXLE back exhaust until you can afford the swap.

In the meantime, being able to control 100 horses is really a lot of fun if you hook up the suspension properly.

With just some 40 dollar strut bars (i know apc sucks but hell there only 40 each) and some Neuspeed sport springs, the slow *** HX handles really well and makes me pretty damn happy.

If you choose instead to turbo your car then, you should look into a mini-me setup (EX head on your block) or just get an EX intake manifold and EX transmission.

Suspension first though, you will love it trust me.

Cool thanks...so is the axel back setup just the muffler and the first couple feet of piping after that? (also called a rear section right?) Yeah...I already have my wheels and suspension picked out. I was going to get the Eibach prokit springs (don't wanna go too low in the snowy states) and a front strut tower brace soon.
