Hey, I grew up on Beale. Little shithole that it is. The surrounding area isn't really much better either, hahaha.

Basically, everything has to be CARB exempt or you can contact hazw8st (I'm sure he'll be posting here anyway) for some loopholes.

SMOG When we do a smog check we check for three things...
1. Visual Inspection of emissions equipment.
2. Functional testing like EGR. Timing, CEL, and Gas cap.
3. Exhaust sampling.

All original parts have to be on the car, or the replacement parts like a turbo need to be C.A.R.B. approved (California Air Resources Board)

You will have to get a smog check when you bring a car in from out of state if you are going to register it in CA.
Then you will have to get a smog check every two years after that.

You said you were new so I am not going to tell you to use the search button

Also if you want more info go to http://www.dmv.ca.gov

Welcome to California
