Default Built motor fooling the knock sensor?.........

I did some searching, and I swear I've seen this discussed before but couldn't find it....
We just swapped a built H22 (Fererra valves/springs/retainers/JE 9:1 pistons/Bensons sleeves/Crower rods, etc) into a 1990 accord, and it runs great with the knock sensor disconnected......when we connect the sensor, it's like the car won't even stay running, so is the sensor picking up bad fake knock from the built internals? Could the sensor be faulty? Any advice/opinions appreciated! I'm having a hard time believing that the internals are making enough of a racket to fool the knock sensor that bad.........
