Default broken bolt question

I am putting together a b16a, and i have a question! There was a bolt the goes into the cam holders that broke off! And all the other ones are fine,, but this one snapped for some reason? was barely being torqued.

Will the motor still run long enough to get me across town? Do you thing, or has this happened to anybody else?

P.S This isn't my motor or garage, I borrowed this pic!

if it was barely being torqued you may be able to get it out.. there is a tool you can use.. it digs into the broken top off the bolt so you can take it out... (an easy out?) it will then unscrew the bolt thats in there if it isnt too tight in there and the threads arent completely stripped... if done correct you can possibly save the thread and put in another one...

or you could just leave it there.

I have tried to back what is left out! And i don't have the option right now to pull the head and take it to the machine shop! Will the head hold together long enough to get this taken care of, or will this cause more damage without it there? I was thinking that if it is just that middle one, thatn it might be okay?

I would fix it.
when the bolt broke, in legnth how long from the head of the bolt came out with it? If it is less than the height of the cam cap there should be part of the bolt sticking out. If you take off the cam cap, you can use a vice grips to remove the broken end and get a new bolt from honda.
If the bolt is broke flush with the head you will have to use an easy out to get the broken part of the bolt out. You can do this with the head still on the vehicle just be careful and put rags underneath were ever you are drilling.

I wouldn't worry about it. I broke one of the bolts that go in the C clamp thing that actually holds the cam in the head, like 2,000 miles ago

easy outs are great. you drill a hole in the bolt/screw whatever and use an easy out which screws itself into the hole and loosens and removes the broken object. Almost any hardware store has them

I have used an "easy out" on the same bolt you are refering to in your pic. Make sure you tape off the whole top of the head with duct tape and a garbage bag. Make sure you get the right size drill bit for the easy out. It's a easy process as long as you don't get any metal down in your head/block.

you can use reverse drill bits too. they work just as good as easy outs

you mean left handed drill bits yea they work aslong as the bit grabs the bolt and is able to break it loose before it continues drilling the bolt
