Breakdown the HP the b18c5 has over the b16a?

Default Breakdown the HP the b18c5 has over the b16a?

I mean.... of the 25-30 hp the b18c5 has over the b16a, about how much hp per mod? For example...

Displacement=5hp
Intake manifold=5hp
Cams=10hp
Headers=5hp
Head ports=? and so forth

I'm probably off, but just trying to figure out how much hp alone would the stock itr head ports make over b16a ports given they were both running let's say GSR cams.

I would think that the fact that the B18C5 has .2 liters more displacement makes a difference. But what do I know!!!

The.2 liters should net about 20hp, with proportional flow. The 400rpms would probably net another 9hp, with proportional flow. Then there's an extra 6 hp there, probably because of more extreme tuning or compression or whatever.

If nothing was done except changing the displacement, it would probably net like 10hp.

I don't know... then the head package and header don't do dittily if that was the case.

Let me rephrase this... given both motors were using ITR blocks, ITR intake manifold and exhaust manifold with the 10.8 c/r/.... How much hp roughly would the motor with the ITR head(cams etc...) make over the b16 head(GSR cams)? 5-10-15hp?


I want to know if it's worth upgrading the ports on this b16 head or not and if the stock b16 ports are going to drastically inhibit performance from cams like CTR or SK2 stg1 as oppossed to the ITR ports??? Or should I save my money on the port jobs for a decent all motor setup.

maybe 8 whp, Id just go with the skunk2 cams if you already have the same compression and manifolds

I'm going to go ahead and say that the head doesn't so much as make more power, as it allows the higher displacement and revs to make power.

A type-R head would probably allow the type-R block to make like 15-20 more horsepower.....

I'm just doing simple math, by the way, comparing a b16, b18c, and b18c5...
