Brake-in my engine
Have somebody read and tried this: http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm ? Is that true or that man is just joking? Anybody tried and can confirm this? Please read all.
I have read about some Ford/Cosworth guy quoted as saying the best break in is redlining it for so and so, something to that effect. Basically similar to what this motoman guy is saying. He does not appear to be joking about it, whether it is true or not....I dunno.
i would never break in a motor that way. after heat soaking it, i would put at least 500 miles on it before giving it any sort of hell. I am going to try and put around 1k miles on mine once i crank it up.

glad it wasnt mine.
I m not to worried about rings, I think the bearings need the break in more.
Crankshafts flex at high rpms. The bearings need to be worn in to the flexing crankshaft. This creates friction which creates heat which is bad.
I'm waiting to rev ls/vtec/gsr crank to 9k until 1500+ miles. Currently I have about 500 miles on it and only revving to 6500rpm. Ocasionally I take it up higher.

No, IMO. But there are many here who disagree w/ me. I broke my motor in slowly, but to each their own.

you need to make sure the rings seat properly to do this you should just drive normally 2500 - 3500 rpm then change your oil right after the inital break in 1(5 - 35 km for 2min then 40 - 60 km fot 10 min) at 500km's to get another oil change to remove chippings from the initial break in that might be left over
then 6500 rpm's for first 1000 km then another oil change thats what i did .
