Default Help me break my motor in ;P

What is your method of break in? Everybody has their own opinion. I got the oil changes down, just wondering how I should drive. I've driven 5 miles so far and was so nervous. The car seemed like it was bogging at times, then it would open up and feel nice...is this normal? I stayed below 3,000RPM. I took it to a TINY BIT passed 4 a couple of times because I wanted to see if it would bog again. Anyway, share your engine break-in methods for new motors!

keep under 3500 rpms if you can. just cruise and burn out or do have fun youll regret it. Some people break in a couple thousand miles so i guess 3 -5K i dunno.

the helms manuals say 1500 miles for break in. i put like 800 on it. i was told by some people who have full on drag cars. they put it like this, break it in the way your goin to drive it. do full race motors have anytime to break in .no goes in the car and get boosted off the bat. if its goin to break it will break when you get it running. thats just how i feel.

Best website!

In my opinion, bring it to the dyno, obviously it will have a fair tune on it. Then do (2) 1/3 throttle pulls, (2) 2/3rd throttle pulls, and then (3) full throttle pulls. yer done.. Just what ive gathered..

Im gonna do my next motor that way. With this motor i did pretty easy but i did open it up once in a while and always let the motor deccelerate on its own. This one turned out fine but I wanna try that hard break in method.
