Bored Out Throttle Body
Trending Topics
I don't know if it's typical, but when I went from a Type-R 62mm throttle body to an Ericks Racing 70-68mm (tapered) throttle body, my wheels started to spin when VTEC kicked in on dry pavement in 1st gear. It did not do that before.
So long as the throttle plate and bore make there 'appropriate' contact/seat....you should be fine. If this contact/seat changed, your idle will go high. Its in the same respect as you turning the throttle stop screw (not the idle air bypass). So if you bore, keep this in mind....if you just bought another one altogether, I wouldn't worry.
I'd venture a guess, but for an Erik's Racing 70mm T-Body...he also uses an enlarged throttle plate....but thats just a guess on my part.
If thats not the case, someone mind elightening me.
