Default throttle body (dashopot diaphram)

is there any advantage to having a working dashpot diaphram? the only advantage i can see is that it keeps the throttle linkage from possibly loosening the throttle stop screw. is there something else that i'm overlooking? TIA

Default Re: throttle body (Initial DA6)

The dashpot helps smooth the idle out when dropping the revs down to idle ..it keeps the throtle plate open for 1 sec or 2 to even everything out. Instead of having it drop harshly and then comn back up in the revs.
