Default Installed a bigger throttle then idle surging?! Different design?

I got a '99 EK and I got a 62mm throttle from my friend off from a DC2, which is slightly bigger than my original 58mm throttle. First I noticed the extra hole connect to something like a Fast Idle Thermo Valve on the bottom. While my old throttle do not have that extra hole or that thermo, but just two coolant hose connected to the throttle body.

I tried to install that bigger throttle, everything connected, but when I started the car. The idle surge from 1k to 2k then back again. I swaped back my original throttle, everything back to normal again.

My question, is my car not using Fast Idle Thermo Valve? coz I can't find it in my original throttle body, but just two coolant hose connected to it.

Also, is there any 60mm+ honda throttle body that similar to my original throttle body design? I just saw spoon throttle body is similar but it is way too big for my application.

P.S. I just addicted to the throttle response of that big TB

Here is my original TB design:

mabey your ecu is looking for the fast idle thermo valve and its not finding it and thats whats causing the issue. do you have a chipped ecu?

skcivic4life, my ECU is non-chipped OBD2 ECU. But i don't think ECU is related to the thermo switch, which is a mechanical switch.

Did you buy a new gasket? Vacuum leak maybe?

Vac leak for sure. Did you plug the nipple (in your pic, on the right) that goes on top? I don't believe you have a vacuum line to hook up to that. The other two are for coolant and can be bypassed if desired. If you have a MT then there is no FITV on the TB.

EDIT: Oh, wait, that pic is your current TB?

all hoses are 100% connected, coz all connector are the same. except there is a hole in the big throttle connect to FITV. my current TB (in the pic) seems to have no FITV. So I suspect that extra hole for FITV is leaking vacuum. Is that MT TB have no FITV? coz mine is MT.

If your new TB has a FITV then it came from an auto. What if you covered up the holes while your idle was surging? Does your idle return to normal?
