boosting on new motor
so is there a concensus on when to start applying boost on a newly built motor? My rings seem well seated already and I still have under 100miles. I mean, if you buy a new car factory turboed, they dont tell you to lay off the boost, right? I've been babying the motor at no more than 3000rpm and never go past atmospheric pressure into positive pressures yet.
any good theory or practical approaches? what happens if you boost too hard too early,
thanks

I would still go through the entire break in period. My friends that have turbo built motors ran them for 1000 miles under 3000rpm and it has seemed to paid off. My one friend has a GSR motor in his 97 coupe that is bored .20 over, has JE 9.0:1 pistons, Eagle rods, Portflow head, Hondata 2b (which isn't even fully tuned yet, just running on a preset) and a Revhard T3/T04E hybrid boostin 10 psi. He was able to run 12.5@112 full interior on 24.5x9x13 MT's. I don't know it just seems better to go through the full breakin then have something mess up early!!
Damn man i was looking at ur original post. Your motor seems just like his. I left out a few of the things like the RC 440's and the Skunk manifold. Good luck
