bogging at high rpms
I have a 1998 acura integra gs that has a b18b1 motor in it and i did ls-vtec with the b18c1 head(p72 head) with it about a couple of months ago and it had a bad head gasket but is good now jus replaced it and checked all the hoses and connectors but when i was driving it and was gettin on it at high rpms it would start bogging or sputtering and not wanting to go sum people say it might be because of the catalayic converter which i havent checked yet bet could be a possibility and also i do not have the air temp sensor plugged in could that be it and also wat would it be confused and could really use the help also was wandering if i need that sensor or not im using the stock b18c1 intake manifold and throttle body and a chipped p28 ecu and tuned with crome
Could be a lot of things. But, a clogged cat wouldn't really cause stuttering or bogging, just a loss of power.
1. Bad plugs/wires/ignition
2. Injectors clogged or too small
3. Various sensors failing
4. Poor tune (too much fuel, not enough fuel, ignition/cam advance, etc)
5. Fuel pump failing or not powerful enough

the injector problem u mentioned could that be a possibility because ive seen people on here with the same set up and they are using the stock ls injectors jus like i am would that really be a problem cuz it ran fine for a while jus now its not confused on wat it could be will replace the cap and rotor though and the wires and spark plugs are brand new and the fuel pump is a stock b18b1 and it works perfectly fine
Your fuel and ignition OE setup is all you really need for what you have. When you say the IAT is not plugged in do you mean, A) Not in the intake tube, or B) Not plugged into the harness.
A) if its not plugged in the intake it would possibly cause a false lean condition.
B) ECU not recieving a signal from the IAT will cause it operate in open loop mode.
A clogged or smashed exhaust can cause hesitation/ bogging during acceleration.

o well its not plugged in i actually dont have one installed but for a week when i had to running without it it ran fine thats why im confused because thats the only thing that changed and am i right do i relaly need bigger injectors cuz ive seen alot of people use stock injectors for a basic ls vtec setup
