Default Block sleeving question

hey guys, i was wondering if having your block sleeved for reliablity reasons on a low hp output motor (B18C1 220-250hp) would cause any issues....id like to know thoughts on this...is it overkill, would a stock block with forged rods and pistons be a better idea??? Thanks.

depends on what size bore and if your going NA or Turbo. Different people have different opinions, if your is a 81-82mm bore on a NA, then you don't really need to but if your 82-up ON TURBO, then maybe you would look into it

sorry for not specifying the set up its a going to be a turbo car and im going to hopefully use it for track racing every so often so it will see a little beating....with that said i want the car to last and am prepaired to save for quality parts, its not going to see much more than 300hp ultimately but will be set up at around 220-250 so i can get it all dialed in the way i want it. Its in an EK chassis and i plan to make it nicely ballanced vehicle. Thanks

Note: id like to keep it at the stock bore.

There is really no need to sleeve for your goals. The only drawback I can see with sleeving, other than the money,is the engine will weigh a little more, depending on which sleeve you choose.

you can make those numbers on a bone stock engine. if you want piece of mind rods and pistons wont hurt. just make sure the fuel system can handle it and the tune is good.

well i definately want piece of mind, i want to build it with near factory reliablity in mind, being able to beat it when i get froggy and still drive home....i agree that the tune is extreemly important though....so im taking it from the responses there will be no issues with upgraded internals and a block sleeve job. Thanks guys.
