Best VTEC engagement?
i have a ques
i was wondering where the best vtec engagement point or where i should set it its a 97 GSR with the following mods
aem cai
comptech header
apexi n1 cat-back
aem pulleys
apexi VAFC
what do u guys think i have it now to engage at 5200 and shut off at 4800
give me your opinon

but stock is 4400 and it doesent feel good if i have it set at 5200 and shut off at 4800 i cant get it to stay in vtec between shifts and it feels better

Stock is not 4400.... Don't confuse the sound of the secondary intake butterflies opening with the sound of VTEC engagement.

first best thing is to get it dyno'ed/tuned & set VTEC engagement according to the best dyno mapping as possible.
other than that, leave it at stock engagement.

get your car dynoed and tuned is the best way to determine where you should set your VTEC engagement. I recently had my car dynoed and tuned at skunk2 and after 2 days of tuning, I was able to make 181.31/127.40 to the wheels. My VTEC engagement is set at 5200. (motor: B18C1)
