Default B20 Vtec Question please help.

running a b20b block with knock sensor. and a b16 head. i did a dry compression test and it was 142 in all cyclinders. is that normal? or could it need a valve adjustment?

thats normal for b20 becuase of their low comp pistons. now if it was a b20z, then youre numbers are a bit diff. does the car start up and rev fine?

the last time i did a compression check on a stock b20, compression was 160 on all cylinders. you might wanna check valve adjustment and maybe the head is not properly fastened. check the torque specs if it is still tight. could also be piston rings. but if your car runs fine and does not idle funny or feel weak then your fine. i cant really give you a complete diagnosis because i only have a few info from you.

valve adjustment. if the car is smoking then my guess would be piston rings because the compression in my old LS was 180psi
