B20 high comp only the head?
so I’ve heard that the b20 high comp is basically only the head that’s high comp is that true? If it is true then, If I threw a vtec head on would it just be the same as a b20 low comp with a vtec head? Or would it make more power?Let me know. I’ve just heard that from someone lol so let me know I’m curious cause I got a high comp b20 in a ek coupe

There are different pistons in the low compression B20 and the high compression B20. It is the P8R head that has a larger combustion chamber which lowers the compression slightly over the standard P75 head. So, a VTEC head will make more compression on a high compression B20 block than it would on a low compression B20 block.

Re: B20 high comp only the head?
b20 high compression engines only have different pistons and intake manifold I believe. As state the p8r heads, I believe, were mostly founded on the low compression heads. The downside to these p8r heads is that people can't find performance valves for these and some folks are not really wanting to dive into that. YET.

The P8R head has Vtec sized intake valves. no performance replacements needed as this head cant handle high revs because of the valvetrain. a typical 3 or 5 angle works fine on this head.
Search for P8R and youll get all the info you need. I paired this head with new pistons cams etc and made decent numbers on the dyno.
Ek coupe..? Almost as elusive as the EM hatch!
