Default compression #s? b20 vtec

stock b20/pr3 head so i noticed excessive oil on the VC breather. I just ran a compression test and these are the results. (tester is a loaner, so I'm not banking on accuracy, but it at least shows the variance)

#1 - 150psi
#2 - 125psi
#3 - 125psi
#4 - 150psi

Now i have already read about wet and dry testing which i will do, as well as check the valve lash. But what is the likelyhood i actually have damage on two cylinders, both getting very similar results. The other thing ive read is possibly blown head gasket as well? the car also runs strong.

Excessive crankcase pressure is generally a sign of poor sealing in the bore. Make sure the PCV valve still functions and is not stuck.

Provided you conducted the compression test correctly, your engine definitely has wear.

Add a tablespoon of oil to the bores and retest the compression. You could have a problem between 2 and 3.

Any problems with the way it runs?

the b20 does not have a PCV system on the block, and the car did not come with catch can (i bought it with the swap). I plan to re test it tomorrow, throttle open and do a wet test. When you say a problem between 2 and 3, what possibly between? I've read it could be the head gasket due to the the same pressure results on those cylinders.

your rad overflow bottle would be full if that was the case from the pressurized coolant.

Was the first test with the throttle open or closed? If closed, then the numbers aren't that bad, but you must re-test with the throttle open to be sure. Also, the closer to operating temp, the better the test will be. A warm valve cover is good.

All engines displace air in both directions, if you do not have a manifold vacuum source pulling a draft on the crankcase, you will blow seals, and throw oil out of any place that it can, including the dipstick.
