Default b18c1 wont hit vtec

So I recently swapped a b18c1 into my integra its both gsr block and head. Code 22 pops up when I get to full temp . Code 22 is vtec pressure switch . I have replaced the switch. I have checked all wiring from solenoid to ecu no break inwiring all grounds are good solenoid work properly(heard clicking when I hooked it up to battery.) The head was running ls vtec before I got it . so was there anything that could have been altered or taken out for ls vtec to work? Please give any suggestions they would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes - you need to pull the 1/8" plug in the cylinder head for VTEC to work. This is assuming the LS/VTEC was done properly to begin with.

Just in case, usually it is done with a flush pipe plug that you use an allen wrench to remove the plug. You must REMOVE the plug to allow oil to flow to the VTEC solenoid. On a LS/VTEC setup an external line is used to supply the head with oil for VTEC activation.
