Default ls/vtec t

Hey guys a qustion some of you may be able to answer.

I have the ls/vtec setup.

I run a motec m800 ecu.

Now on the solenoid assembly there are two plugs a green 2 pin plug which I take is the v-tec solenoid.

Then there is a one pin plug which goes to the top removable housing of the v-tec slenoid assembly. I would say that this is some sort of oil pressure switch.

Now seeing as I am using the m800 can I remove the pressure switch and put a blanking plate in its position.

I have dismantled the v-tec assembly and cannot see how this will pose any threat to the v-tec solenoid engagement.

Help would be appreciated

Alex From Australia.

You will be able to retain both soleniods. Our tuner recently got his m800 installed and running on his s2000.

Yes I will be keeping the solenoid but is there a need to keep the pressure switch on top of the solenoid assembly?

Seeing as the m800 output will control the solenoid there sould be no need for the pressure switch. There fore I would like to remove it for a cleaner neater look.

No i do not see a need to keep the pressure switch.
Just wire the soleniod into one of the many outputs and set it to engage at what ever vtec point you want. Motec is the ****.

Yes, wire the vtec solenoid to an aux output and you can eliminate the vtec oil pressure switch.
