B18C1 SMOG Prob's
I got a 94 civic dx coupe with a USDM 95 B18C1 and am having HUGE problems passing smog. The issue the HC's. they are about 100 higher then they should be. the engine is stock and I just got a new cat. My ECU is a skunk2 chipped P28. Any help would be good. Thanks.
yeah..its the skunk program for sure...the engine should pass without a prob..are you rockin the skunk2 intake manifold too? if not then you shouldnt be using the p28. Other than that..find yourself a obd1 p72 ecu...which will run you about 200 bucks...or borrow one from a homie...you should be fine..
I just learned that the OBDIII will be using a GPS to track and monitor the emissions of the vehicle and the goverment will know where you go too. there's going to be a switch to turn off the GPS but you will have take your car to get smoged every year, this will probably will be around the year 2007 or 2010.

when i took my car to the ref. they didn't ask for papers on the engine, here's what they did they did the visual inspection making sure vacuum hoses are connected, mil light works, timing and everything as to be in stock form no aftermarket fuelrails, cam pulleys btw if you don't have the t belt cover they won't put it on the dyno (liability, a small rock may fall into the opening and cuasing some engine damage)after the dyno you get the bar sticker and pay your $38.25 if it does not pass you pay $30.00 and get a second chance. and make sure you get there on time. they will skip you if you're not there on time and will have to wait. each ref station may vary depending on the refs. doing the certification. it took me four times to get my car legal 1st. no t-belt cover 2nd air cleaner vacuum operated resonator(which I had to prove that it was not emission related)passed the tailpipe but failed the visual 3rd. passed visiual failed tailpipe. 4th pass visual and emissions. hope you have better luck
