p30 worth chipping?
i have a 99 b18c1 in my eg hatchback and im currently running a p30 ecu.
im going to purchase a skunk2 intake manifold and i was wondering if i can jus chip the p30 rather then buying a whole new ecu(p28) then get it re-chipped

the only difference between a P30 and a P28 is the knock sensor in the P30. No reason to change at all when going to a Skunk2 mani.
But a stock P30 will not be enough fuel for a B18C1, so you should chip the P30 anyway.
hopefully you meant you have a P72 (GSR) ECU now...

should i get it skunk2 chipped? im thinking about using there cams/valve trains/cam gears in the near future..
i also have a skunk2 exhaust(if it matters)

if it is a P30-A01, USDM one, its worth more stock then chipped.
the cali boys need that ECU for their swaps or they wont pass emissions or the smog ref.
If you want a chipped ECU....get a P28

i live in cali/got s usdm b18c1.....but i heard that in order to ref your car you would need to change your car to whatever the motor
(obd-2b) but im sure my car has been converted to obd-1...
but lets just say if smog is not a issue.....can i trade for a chipped p28? or can i just chip my p30
