Im thinking about buying a b16b shortblock with a apun bearing and i was woundering what crank and rods do the block use. Ive never heard of any such so do i just use b16 a internals thanks
The b16b crankshaft is a special balanced crankshaft. The rods are slightly longer because the deckheight of the motor is the same as a GSR/Integra Type R. You'll need to use the stock B16b rods (B16a are much shorter) or buy aftermarket rods. The block is a Y block (Tall deck block) as opposed to the B16a/B17a block which is an A (short deck block). You might want to just strip out the internals and replace it with GSR (about $250 and a lot more Torque).
