Default b18cR crank into b16a ?

My friend just broke his b18c1 gsr sleeves. He has b18c1 block w/crower rods and 83mm CP pistons.and b18cR crankshaft.
Can we use b16a empty block with these internals(Cp 83mm..Crower H beam..b18CR crank)???

IIRC, you will need shorter rods. as the itr/gsr crank is 87mm stroke instead of 77mm, and the deck heights on the block are way different. it can work, but youll need either a deck plate and or special rods.

goodluck getting that b16 to 83mm. Only thing you could really do is get another b18c block and rebuild, but in order to use your 83mm pistons, you would have to sleeve the next block again.

If you have easy access to an LS block, then get an LS block and bore it out to 83mm (resleeve it or whatever) and use your GSR internals. There may be a clearance problem with the rod bolt when doing this, and I think it only involves a little grinding of the block. That's about it. Use your GSR oil pump, and just use the same timing belt that you would use with an LS/VTEC combo.

Otherwise, just get another GSR block or a type r block.

Good luck.
