Hi ,
Im new to Honda tuning but having just bought a Civic ek4 to build in to a rally car thought i better start doing some homework .
I am looking to build a 200 bhp b16a2 with a good power band and as much torque as possible and would really appreicate some advise (cams ,headwork ,valve train ,oil system etc)
Also whats availble for the gearbox I would like to run a straight cut dogbox but dont seem to be able to find anything

I am limited by the class to 1600cc and whilst I appreicate that its not the most torquey engine out there its still very important that I have a good power band afterall rally engines spend most of their life accelerating (torque +acceleration ,bhp+topspeed
Thanks for the gearbox info I ve run ppg dogboxes in Imprezas didnt realiize they do a Civic box have sent them a email

200 bhp is achievable with a b16 but I don't think it'll meet all of your criteria. You'll have mostly top end, pretty narrow, power band. Torque numbers are pretty low also probably around 120 ft/lbs or less. I have no clue about the class your racing in but consider turboing maybe?
You'll have to wring the neck of of the B16A to get that kind of power, and it won't have a ton of torque.
I think I'd go with some high compression pistons, upgrade valvetrain, port/polish, decent cams and a good intake, header, exhaust. Will be able to rev pretty high, which will be great if you can get a very shortly geared, close-ratio box.
He won't be able to turbo, its a 1600 NA class.
