B16a VAFC WEIRD Problem
Ok i have a b16a with skunk2 stage 1's, clutchmaster stage 3 an lightened flywheel, vafc. I added the CIvic Type-r 1.8lb crank pulley last weekend. now heres the weird part. I have hit my stock rev limiter at 8200 before. i know when i hit the limter, it can bounce an go past the 8200 an my VAFC read like 8257 RPMs. well the other day i was driving my car hard an i shifted an my VAFC was at 8379. an i did not hit my rev limiter. thats a big "bounce" over the rev limiter IMO. also, i have my vtec (VTI) set to kick in at 5600. before the crank pulley was added, it would flip from "OFF" to "ON" when i heard the vtec crossover an hit vtec at 5600. now it comes on lik 500rpms BEFORE i hit the 5600 crossover. makes me go hmmm. i wonder, is the crank pulley messin with my tach due to the fact its lighter, possibly smaller? anyone have any similar problems? car runs fine, i just noticed that stuff yesterday. thanks
Check your sensors voltage on the vtec controller, and make sure it is still connected then check your vtec on point to make sure it didnt get reset some how and final disconect the neg on your battery for a couple mins and drive it again see if there any thing there .let us know!
I don't believe your tach (ecu reads rpms off dizzy) has anything to do with your Vtec engagment point.
Check your sensor voltage of the vafc and check the vafc wiring into the cars wiring harness.

my b16a2 ran wierd when i ahd my vafc hooked up to it.... made it cut off at 6500 rpms, almost like a fuel cutoff problem... as soon as i took it out my car ran fine
