AXLE slipped out from inside the boot
i have a b18c1 ob1 swapped eg. when i was trying to change my driver side front strut when my gsr axle slipped out from inside the boot. i've been trying to get it back in but it wouldn't go in. so i took the clamp off to see why. found out there are 3 ***** in there. i tried to line it up and push it in but it wouldn't go in. should i try a sledge hammer to get it in? hopefully someone out there who can help me cause i've been stuck with it for the past 3 days.
Are you talking about the end of the axle that goes into the tranny?
I had mine pop out once, it didn't come out of the boot, but the joint was disconnected. I was able to hit it once or twice with a hammer and it went back in. Been fine now for over a year.

i got it to go in! the barings have to allign in a certain angle eventhough it was pointing straight in. got it in and clamped it together. thanks for your help and giving me hope. i almost gave up on it till you told me you got yours in. thanks!
I've had problems with the EP's popping the outer CV joint out of joint while installing the struts before. I had to remove the axle completely and smack it on the ground (on a towel) to get the CV joints to snap back together.
