ok, i'm not sure where i should be asking this question, but figure this forumn seem to be rigth for it...

1st off this is off o the honda/acura class.. the vehicle is a 94 toyota camry (4cyl)..just finish swaping in the new(used) motor and the original tranny(auto). car start and run fine..but when shifted into reverse or drive it doesn't engage..the car just roll back. jack up the car and set the shifter into drive and no spining or movement on the axles/hub. everything was putted back to how it was orginally (cable/plugs/etc..) kept knocking on my head to firgure out what else could be the problem but still nothing..what do any of you guys out there think it could be..anyone have had this problem b4?

 

first check the condition of the torque converter. is it seated in properly, tranny fluid in the tranny?, etc...

 

the TQ is in and has to be (otherwise the tranny will not bolt up) plus all the 6 bolts that hold the TQ to the flex plate are all tighten and the fluid is top off...
i checked everything and all that i could think of. my last to conclucion would be a bad TQ or a tranny..those are my last though of "might" be the problem.

 

check the valve body.
