Default assembly questions need answered

Ok, so, let me get this straight before I do anything stupid. as well as a little background info on my motor.

i am running a crank(gsr) which has been cut .20 over. both rod and mains. i have .20/.20 bearings and thrusts washers. are these the equation(s) i am supposed to measure for/come up with? listed below:

-widest point on main caps tightened down MINUS the width of the crank mains= my gap clearance for bearings which is my acceptable indication marking for when i apply the plasti gauge?

-widest point on rods MINUS the width of the journal on the crank= gap clearance for bearings which is what i need to check for on plasti gauge when measurement/tightening is taken?

im still a tad bit confused.

You want to measure 90 degrees to the parting lines of the bearing, or basically 6 and 12 o'clock. This is where the clearance is the tightest.
