Default apexi filter

anybody have an apexi filter installed in their cars? how can you tell a genuine apex filter from an imitation? what are the things to look for?

i had one they are she shiznit, the way to tell is to look inside the filter and it will have a cone shape to it, it will also say apex all over the top of it

guys, it's a peice of foam or cotton that prevents crap from getting in the engine. This isn't rocket science, any reputable filter will do.

not quite...


some are more restrictive than others, hence hindering performance...some clean the air better than others...so they are not all the same

I didn't say they were all identical, I said any reputable one will do [fine].

Show me evidence that one brand name company's filter significantly outperforms another an perhaps I'll change my tune. But I've been using K&N for 10 years on my cars and have had experience with several other top manufacturer products, and honestly they are all pretty much identical.

exactly. According to that article all the filters cost the same (which is not true), and all made within .5% the exact same increase in power. It doesn't give the specifics for how they tested filtration ability (and I've never liked the replace only HKS filters anyway), but unless someone can show me engine failure due to dust particles I won't worry myself. In other words...
