Did you change your intake manifold gasket? IF not, then there is your problem. Could be from your TB gasket also. As far as finding the leak with propane gas, im not to sure on that one.

take some water in a bottle and squirt it along all the vacuum lines and gaskets. if the RPM"s drop, then you have a vacuum, leak, Don't use propane, that is dangerous. just use water

check/replace gaskets and making sure they are on there perfectly.

Also make sure all bolts are torque'ed properly.

run an unlit propane torch along the vacuum line and if the idle speeds up you've found the leak. propane is flammable but not dangerous in the minute quantity released by a handheld torch.

carb cleaner will dry out (dry rot) your rubber hoses and create an oily mess! If you leave a propane torch on for 1 hr in a locked garage with no wind you might have a hazard, but are you gonna do that? Kamin you must be a newbie. Industry standard practice to use unlit propane torch. have you tried it??

people have been using carb cleaner longer than i have been alive dude.
carb cleaner wont damage anything if you WIPE IT OFF or only if you douse the entire engine bay in it will it rot the hoses. that takes ALOT of carb cleaner.
im a newbie, pfft.

Are any of the bolts that attach the old IM to the head torque-to-yield?
If you re-used any of these by accident, and they are torque-to-yield, that could be the problem.

no, retarded is opening yourself up to unneeded risk by using a FLAMMABLE material to leak test.... one little spark and you are a http://www.darwinawards.com nominee.......

my cousin was changing a gas filter on a FORD truck and he had a hanging light and some gas spilled on him and the automotive hanging light causing the bulb to shatter and s spark lit his a$$ up like a Christmass tree. he did depressureise the system but there was just enough pressure between the fuel pump and filter to cause gas to shoot out and cause problems.

needless to say it pays to be careful and sometimes that is not enough.....

gasoline is a liquid, propane from a torch comes out so slowly and in sucha small amount there is no way you are gonna have a fire hazard unless you have the torch on for 30 min in a locked garage, and then light it with an exposed flame.. Are you stupid enough to do that??
