Any one hear of having to replace the TB when getting the MAP sensor Code?
I went to my mechanic today to replace my axles and had him try to clear my check engine light. I already knew it was my MAP sensor but he said that when getting that code you have to replace the whole trottle body. He didnt suggest he do the replacement but for me to go to a junk yard and pick one up. So how much truth is there to this or can I get by just picking up a MAP sensor at a junk yard?
what motor is this?
normally just replacing the MAP sensor is all that's needed, which isn't difficult.
i don't see any reason to replace the entire TB with both sensors just because of a MAP sensor code. most will replace either the TPS or MAP sensors when the CEL comes on, but not the TB too. i'm sure you can pick up a MAP on H-T or from a local yard for pretty cheap. that SHOULD fix your problem/code.

if anything is wrong with the throttle body you will be able to see it or feel it in the pedal. just replace the map.
