Default Another VTEC questions:.......

Ok, as some of you know, I am swapping a CRVtec in my 97 DX OBD2.

I am going OBD1 With the p30( I know the fuel maps are bad for b20, but It will be chipped l8r down the line) OBD1 ecu. B16 head, b20 block.

Well I was just looking up some wiring diagrams such as Katmans 96-98 pin out vtec legend. Which is great.... But I need to know if that will work the exact same way if I was to run a p30 ecu? I.E.

Such as A5 and A6.... Im assuming just leave A5 unpinned since it is the secondary, and I will be running OBD1.

now, for knock sensor.... D6... I had asked this question before, and I was told the p30 did not have KS integrated into it.... do I unpin it? or is that info false?

But other then that, I run 2 wires.... one from A8 and C15? correct? and one ground wire from the solenoid itself to frame.... correct?

If any or all of this is false, please help me out, I am new to wiring for VTEC, but I would like the experience, and pride of doing it myself. Any help would be great. And sorry if the pic does not work or is too big, I do not have a resizing program.

Thanx.

The only two ways that you can use that diagram is: you have a OBD2a ECU (you say you are running a OBD1 ECU) or you run the wire for vtec BEFORE the jumper (you will need jumper to run OBD1 in your car).
this one will help you too.

If you run the wires to the jumper (not the ECU) it will work. Some jumpers come with the wires already there for you.

P30 does have Knock sensor

Correct, you will only have to run 2 wires to the ECU. I ground the ground for the Vtec pressure switch on the thermostat housing ground. For the pinouts, see above.

I hope that helps.

With jumpers, I use the ECU pinouts (not the jumper aka OBD2 pinouts) to find the right place(s) for the wire(s). Use the diagram I posted and run the wires to the ECU directly if you need.
