Another Uberdata question...
Im new to this but know pretty much what is going on. Now i have the Moates burner. I had a chip in my ecu and watned to see what was on it. I read the chip and then saved the buffer to a file. It then asked me to name it and it saves it w/o a file extension. Now after i make a file that i want in Uberdata, do i burn that xxx.bin file to to the moates, or should i strip off the file extension (.bin)? Or do I burn it with the .bin extension intact? And what version of uberdata should i be using? I am currently on the 1.66v.
thanks man. I was left in the dark about that part. So what version of Uberdata is the most reliable? i tried to use the "full throttle launch" feature, but when i saved the .bin I got this message "FTL write failed, this may cause ECU falilure" Whats up with that? And i was using v1.66
I would assume the newest one (1.7) is the most reliable. I'm not sure why the write didn't work. I'm not all that proficient with Uberdata, I've only burned a few chips and didn't have much of a problem, although I've never tried FTL.
man i got the same things and i read a chip from my girls chipped ecu and when i loaded it into uberdata it was all over the place. on the dimensional veiw it went off the charts and came back down halfway across and the values were all screwed up. what pogram did u use to read it ?? one form the moates site?? i was having the same problems.
my values came in fine. I just dindn't know what file extension to use to re-write the program to the chip. I used the "flash&burn" software from moates to read the chip. make sure you select the right chip from the pull down and then select "read chip".

i think 1.6666 is the best, solely cause 1.7 hasnt been around enough for all possible bugs to occur.
edit: im like 2 seconds away from sleeping. but i use 1.66 and it worked fine

One thing to note about trying to use that Full Throttle Launch control...you need to open the basemap first (i.e. the StockGSR or StockLS bin's only). Then change all your FTL/S and Rev limit and Vtec x-overs and ****, also everything under the Misc tab. Then save that file without importing ANY fuel/timing maps. Once its saved, I close uber, open it back, and OPEN the new file i just created...THEN use the improt feature and import your fuel/timing maps from another bin (could be one of the stock ones, or one you've pulled from a different chip). Otherwise, 99.99% of the time, the FTL wont work correctly, or at all.
