Default ecu chipping question????????????

before anyone says use the search feature ive already looked and maybe im blind or i dunno. but i didnt see anything on this .. heres the scoop >>>>

i ordered a ecu chip not to long ago skunk2 program. and it came with the 28 pin socket so the chip can be placed into it and it came with a 74hc373 ic gate chip.
but it did not come with capacitors for c51 & c52 and my question is do i really need those and if i do where and what would i get, ohh yeah also it came with these super sketchy instructions and it says solder a resitor into r54 but then it says not all ecus require this step is this true and if so what ecu's dont require this step ... thanks in advance guys

I have always put them in. They are a .1uf ceramic capacitor and any electronics/robotics store should carry them. If not try a local electronics repair shop. I remember reading somewhere that a guy wasn't using them..... he never said how things worked out for him though. I would have to assume that putting them in would only benefit the ECU's processes for reading & interpreting the signals properly????

It's not that sketchy really. If you don't have R54 under J11 then you don't need it. I'm not sure of all the ECU's that don't require it but I have run into it with P72's and P75's.

You do not need to run them. Honda puts them in so I do too.
