Default Ecu chip question

I have a 89 civic si with D16 1.6L... I bought it recently and found out that it has something called a june chip in the ecu... Does anyone know anything about that?.. I know nothing about ecu but i have noticed i dont seem to have a rev limiter and was told it is because of the chip

It's an ebay chip, get it tuned or disable it before you destroy your engine.
And give google a try next time, this has been covered a hundred times.

When you ask for help you shouldnt get responses such as use google.. As i said i searched... In fact i searched throigh the forum and bing and even typed it in on ebay because thats where i figured it csme from.. So i turned to you self proclaimed professionals for assistance and i get flak. And yep im a noob and thats why i csme here for help. Imagine you will undrrstand. This civic is my dream car.. And it needs alot of work so i when i cant find something on google i will be asking for help here... If you dont want to help me then simply just dont respond to my posts

I usually put a nice sticker on the ROM chips I have and call em Swagger Chips, even tho they are mostly just base maps or even blanks. Its a cool name!

the chip itself isn't useless.

the tune on the chip is.

Get a stock basemap setup on it, or get it tuned correctly.

yea Crome for tuning.

you need a Eprom writer to flash the chip ( taken out of the ecu ), and take the chip out.

I reccommend getting it tuned. you screw something up and you could cause damage
