Default Another Oil Pressure thread. Please Help ASAP

Brand new motor, assembled by myself. Used ACL bearings, old oil pump(car has 120,000kms on it, old owner supposedly changed it at 100,000).

Just breakin the motor in, seems that my oil pressure is reading low. It reads about 13psi @ warm idle. about 50psi at WOT. It fell out of vtec on my way home just now So im thinkin that the gauge is correct, and my pressure is infact Low.

Any ideas? Maybe the oil pump is goin out? Cant see it being bearing clearances, they were all well within spec in assembly.

Please Help!

50 @ WOT is not low. Its within the spec in the Helm. I believe it states 10psi at idle and 50 at WOT. I see no problems based off this information.

Throttle position has no affect on oil pressure. Engine speed is where it's at.

What engine? What are the main and rod bearings clearances? What was the reason for rebuilding the engine?

reason for rebuild: Clutch broke, and i wanted to build it anyways

All main/rod bearing clearances were within OEM Honda Spec, dont remember the exact numbers, but they were within the limits.

I wouldnt have a problem with the pressure either, but vtec doesnt work sometimes, which leads me to believe that it dips below the minimum pressure(42psi??)

Your oil pressure seems fine. I run 15-20lbs at idle and 55 65 lbs at wot. I would have put in a new oil pump when rebuilding it. always a good thing to avoid any problems later on.
