Weird Oil Pressure Reading.
I just got an oil pressure gauge (brand new)hooked up on my Ls and its reading just about 20 psi at idle. What should it be reading because I know that it should be more than 20 psi. Is my oil pump to weak? If so what do I replace it with?

Re: Weird Oil Pressure Reading. (Ls InTeGrA RaCeR)
im pretty sure thats normal..my friend's reads that (on his ls)....but i would like to ask the same question for mine....i have a d16y8 and mine reads about 15psi.(idle) is that accurate its a brand new autometer electric gauge so i dunno i have just assumed its normal for now. i figured my vtec engine would have higher oil pressure than a non-vtec even tho its a soch instead of a dohc

20psi is normal when the motor is warmed up and idling.
At WOT, the oil pressure should be at around 80psi.

Well what does your cart idle at? When mine idles at like 300rpm's I only see 10psi lol
At 800rpm it is around 20psi.
The weight of the oil also plays a role in what pressure you will see. The temperature too, when it's cold, it will be higher.
