another b20z vtec question
i am lookin into going b20z vtec. right now currently i have the motor in the car but am trying to get as much knowledge first on b20vtec b4 i go for this hand.
first question for everyone that has had a b20vtec, what can i look for in average life expectancy from using a stock bottom b20z with a vtec girdle????? all i want to run in this setup would be a ported gsr head with itr cams no cam adjustment, just a chipped ecu and v afc, redline will probably be aroudn the 8700 rpm range nothing crazy. i want to kno how anyone has faired with stock b20z bottom ends and whats you outlook on this??? is it relaible enough for a street setup basically daily driving and weekend fun???? i like to beat my engines( i.e- 100 runs with my ls swap and running 4 bottles of nitrous b4 its gave a ****), i want it to last longer than this one lol. i didnt even ahve the b18b in for a year.
secondly, what type of tranny is recomended for this? i was thinking of using a gsr tranny primarily because of gas mileage or will a b16 tranny make that much of a difference in 1/4 times?????? in terms of clutch i will probably be using my CM clutch with a lightened flywheel.
3rd- what type of power should i expect??? not looking into raising the compression of the b20z/vtec or going higher than 8700 rpms
4rth- should i go through the small extras of balancing the crank at all and replacing the bearings when i do the vtec head swap????currently the motor has about 60k on it when i bought it and has maybe 600 miles more on it if that. also what other small extras should i get that might help the reliability of the motor i kno injectors maybe prelude injectors will that suffice?????
i kno there is a search button but that damn thing i never can find what i am really wanted to ask. so any help or advice will be greatly appreciated

(i didnt read all that, sorry)
but just keep in mind b20 sleeves are kinda weak. but it looks like youre going all motor, correct?
as far as #s go, i think ive seen a few dyno sheets of b20s around here
oh... and dont abuse on those poor engines so much!

abuse is my middle name heeheh. i have a tendancy to rev hard as **** on a engine i was also thinking of using a msd ignition and cutting the redline to 7800 on reg daily driving
well if you plan to rev a lot i would reccomend using arp studs throught and get the crank, pistons and rods balanced
also be shure to break in the motor correctly and a VTEC girdle is always a plus
make shure everything is within spec and do a complete botom end rebuild if you want reliability
if you want to go an extra step get oil squirters installed to keep the pistons cooler
and you could also use a deck plate to stiffen up the cylinder walls, but that is up to you because some people say to use them and others say dont bother
