aluminum fly wheel

Default aluminum fly wheel

i am planing on putting a act aluminum fly wheel in my crx and i was wondering if going with the lighter fly wheel will change how the motor runs at all. does it make the idle ruff at all?? any help will be great.

It will make for faster revs.
Well effect idle if you're running with your accessories on. Don't plan on running AC if its too light.

The act flywheel are actually cromo steel, not aluminum. But to answer yur question, It may affect your idle a little bit depending on you engine setup but it will definitly rev quicker.

I'm still not sure where these ideas originated from, especially the one regarding A/C. My brother is running a Clutchmasters FW (one of the lightest B-series FW's I'm aware of) along with a UR Racing crank pulley, and there are no problems with accessories at idle or with running A/C.

A/c will work fine with a lightweight flywheel.

I have the act 8.8 and there is no prob. with the accesories on.
It will affect the idle in the point that it will drop faster and will want to stall sometimes; but it stabilizes after a few sec.

on my daily driver, i have a lightened FACTORY flywheel (14lbs.)
i dont seem to be having ANY problems.
took me about 20-30 minutes to get used to the quicker revs.
