funny steering/idle question. searched
whenever my car is running but not moving the idle will be steady. but if I turn my steering wheel in either direction the idle will either go up or down? is this normal? or does anyone know what might be happening? thanks.

You are putting a small load on the motor from the power steering pump by turning the wheel, the computer is compensating for the load. If it wasn't set up this way, there is a possibility that you could kill the motor just by pulling really hard on the wheel when idleing. The part that controls this is called the ELD (electronic load detector)
