yes there is.
Internally the 92-93 tranny's are better (imo) because they (1) they're updated technology and (2) they use hydro tranny internals, yet their in a cable casing.

92-93 LS are hydro?

I have a 92 gsr tranny and its cable...

reason I ask is because Im looking for a ls 5th gear that'll fit my tranny.

No the 92-93 LS trannies are not hydro, they just have the same internals as the hydro trannies. It's still a cable tranny, just with updated internals. And the 92-93 GSR trannies are different still. They had different gear ratios but I can't remember if there was a difference in final drive or the way the synchros were set up.

If your tranny is a 92-93, you should be able to tranfer any 92-01 b series 5th gear regardless of model, as they are all of the newer generation of design.

Just to add my .02 cents. Almost ALL 92-93 teg tranny's are LABELED "YS1". But the LS/GS tranny's have a taller ratio than the "YS1"
GS-R tranny's

Why second guess?? They are basically all the same, just the gear ratios are different. I wouldn't worry about it.
What could be the problem?

the 90-91 also have a different number of splines then then 92-93

so clutches for 90-91 wont work on 92-93 ls trannys and vice versa...

this is true.
But other than needing a different clutch, the '90-91 tranny's will still bolt to
a '92-'93 engine and they will still work the same and vice-versa.
Search in archived topics for katman's B engine tranny guide it will tell you ALL you need to know about ALL B engine tranny's

I am in the middle of rebuilding my S1 tranny. To order bearings, I had to order from a 90-91 Acura Integra LS Special Edition. There are slight differences in bearing sizes for 90-91 and 92-93. I am relplacing all the bearings (except countershaft needle bearings) and may replace the 3rd/4th synchro set depending on how much money I have. I have posted my progress so far in the thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=588544

I've spent like close to $300 for the bearings and seals...the synchro set for 3rd / 4th is like an additional $200...dunno if I can swing that.
