Just fitted it.. Clutch feels great until.. HIGH RPMS like 8500 1st and 2nd, dip the clutch and cannot move the shifter!!! the revs drop slightly and then I can move it. Could this be a screwed pressure plate? 3rd and 4th upshifts at the same RPM are fine.
Any thoughts??

I've got the same problem.. i can't put my car into 1st when rolling, but when i am stopped it goes in fine. i've noted as well that shifting when in higher rpms, the gears seem to scratch with the clutch fully pushed to the floor. The same goes from 1st to 2nd (occasionally) and mostly from 2nd to 3rd. I believe that it is a bad pressure plate, since thats what it was for me back then.
The best thing you can go is to take it apart and read up on pressure plates (difference between bad and good)
If you can't figure it out, i'd say go to a tranny shop - but then that takes out all the fun
Another thing mentioned from my dad's friend who specializes in transmissions is something about adjusting something on the tranny. Not exactly sure about the rest of it, sorry - but if you happen to see anything mentioning that, i'd read on it.
I installed an exedy stage 1 single plate clutch on mine.
good luck man

Got a reply from ACT..
"Sounds like you are having high RPM lockout problems, i.e. synchros no
longer do their job. This can be remedied by lightening up the rotating
mass of your clutch assembly further by using a ProLite flywheel or changing to the lighter 6 or 4 puck discs."
I'm getting confused now.. Should I BUY another A14 XTSS and see if it is a pressure plate problem???
What would you guys do???

I asked my dad's mechanic and he said it's more then likely to be your synchros. Not exactly sure about any adjustment. What i would do is take it up to a transmission shop and ask them about it, but make them pumped up by saying "if you could please explain to me why this is happening, i'd probably just bring my car here... blah blah blah" and stuff like that because you know how some mechanics are.. they'll end up just saying a bunch of stuff and they are lazy so give them some motivation.. if they say somewhat the same concept of what A.C.T. said, then i guess go for the pro-lite.
Let me know what they say, i'd be interested in it as well

I am sorry I didn't see this earlier. I haven't been on HT very much lately. It is not easy to diagnose over the internet, but I have a couple ideas for you. First, adjust the clutch throw to get better release or more clutch air gap. This involves the adjustment at the clutch master cylinder (hydraulic) or the cable if it is not a hydraulic system. Increased torsional vibrations will cause this as well as crankshaft flex. At 8500 rpms there are some dynamics that do not occur at lower rpms. Increasing the air gap (raising the release/engagement point) should help if the problem is crank flex. If it is torsional vibration or transmission issues, adjustment won't make any difference at all. If it were a problem with the clutch parts themselves you would have shifting problems at all rpms, not just high rpms.
Anyway, that is what comes to mind. I have heard of people using different oils too but I am no expert on oil. If you need further assistance feel free to contact me directly by email at dstarksen@advancedclutch.com.
