ACL and Plastigage?
Well just starting my research on engine building. What I am looking to do is rebuild my B18B with aftermarket (Eagle) rods and either stock or new pistons, with new piston rings, gaskets, waterpump, belts and all the other crap to make a nice and reliable daily driven engine.
Now my question to you is: Since ACL sells bearings that are middle thickness, why bother doing Plastigage? Should I do it? Is it just to make sure that the needed clearance is there?
Thank you...

First off... why are u buying after market rods for your rebuilt? are you going to boost the motor or build it for more power later on? i would also STRONGLY suggest that you measure your rod and main journals with a micrometer, or get someone qualified to do it. I also would suggest using plastic gauge to measure your clearances. don't trust that they SHOULD be ok, Also get a helms manual for all specs.
