Default 3-Bar Map/stock ecu

Im posting for a friend...He has a 89 turbo Accord enging is a A20A3,OBD-0, full build up that includes eagle rods, JE pistions on a T3/T4 62-1 all custom set up etc..
Ok were trying to turn up the boost up into the 16-18psi range, but he is still on the stock ECU and map. Ok the 3-bar map runs like ***, till WOT then pegs full rich ! But check engine light is comming on.. Ok so we know the 3-bar voltage is off, but at WOT its nice and rich.. So we wired in a relay switch and fabed up an actavation switch and kept both the stock map and 3-bar, so the car can still function off the stock MAP until WOT, then it kicks in the 3-Bar MAP..
Still no good and check engine light again.. Ok so now how are we going to solve this, can this idea work or is this a dead issue.. I suggest that he convert to OBD1 and run uberdata, or pull his Holley Comander 950 out of his other car to overcome this..
Looking for some serious imput for a serious sleeper car.. Thanks.

3bar will only work with chipped or stand alone ecu.Stock ecu can't correctly read its output.
