2nd gear problems
Now that the knocking sound at idle has been resolved, another problem arises.
When shifting to 2nd, the shifter doesn't want to slide the whole way. It seems to catch on something and then the shifter will slide in. This becomes a problem when you are trying to accelerate and shift into 2nd quickly, you think its in gear and let out the clutch and it grinds. This grinding has happened twice now. I was accelerating onto an on ramp, from 1st gear, into 2nd and I thought I had it in gear because it wouldn't move any further, and when I let out the clutch I heard a grinding sound.
This problem has become a pain in the ***. I always have to pull the shifter into 2nd twice, first till it catches, and then again.
I only have 3,000 miles on my car and I already don't like it. So much for Honda build quality.
