Sometimes my car refuses to go into reverse. I have a 91CRX Si with a B20 swap i'm using a 92 Teg GS tranny w/ hasprt shift linkage. This problem usually occurs after 5th gear grinds. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

well this trick usually works for problems pertaining in getting into reverse...

it's called "first then reverse" ..... I'm sure you get the meaning of it

see if that will work.

 

I go first, then try reverse, nope. I creep forward a lil' in first then reverse....nope. after roughy 5 min of forceul playing it will go in...eventually.

 

put it in neutral, let the clutch out, push cluch in and try again and again

 

sometimes if your pushing it into reverse and let the clutch up slightly it will slip in
you just have to play around with it

 

put in reverse before you start the car

 

when it happens to me, i apply slight pressure trying to put it in reverse, while at the same time giving it a little throttle and releasing the clutch *A LITTLE* without grinding the gears. always works for me
