Default Blue Box Questions.

Whats up guys.

Putting a kit together, and just want some cheap management. A pal of mine has a blue box on his y7, and its decent. So I want the same. No time to tinker, just want to slap it in and go, thats why im choosing the blue box.

I have a 97 civic Ex. It has a y7 head/ b7 block obd2-1 and chipped p05.

My question is can I use any blue box ?
Ive seen one for sale for a 99si. Im not sure if the obd2 blue box would work with my obd1 ecu.

Any ideas ? Is the blue box obd2/1 compatible ?

Thanks.

Wondered the same thing a few months ago.

When I find the information in search, I'll post the thread in here.

If you use a Blue Box from a 92-95 greddy kit, it will work fine.

Personally, I'm running a greddy blue box from a 92-95 kit on my OBD-II P2P stock EX ecu. Got the diagram off of turbocivic.net , but the site is down.

Go to http://www.turbod16.com under the FAQ section to see the wiring diagram.

It will probably work, but I'm not sure how well with a chipped ecu vs. stock.

Hope that helped.

Thanks.

Im aware that the 92-95 blue box will work on an obd2 ecu. Tried it on my friends y7.

Im not worried about being chipped. I can always get a stock p28 program for 10 bucks.

Im worried if the obd2 si blue box would work on my obd1 ecu. Period.

Thanks for the reply.

it will work, but the Si blue box is designed to use the 310 cc injectors that come with the kit.

Thanks for the info.

So do you think it would run correctly with stock 240cc injectors.

Thanks again.

Can you not read? He says it's calibrated for 310cc injectors, not your stock 240's.

Default blue box w/ stock injectors

Actually the OBD1 blue box that is non-tunable is designed to run off the factory 240cc injectors that come in the 92-95 civic si/ex models. The kit doesn't come with replacement injectors.

And yes, the blue box should would work fine with the OBD1 ecu. That's what it's meant to run on. It also runs fine on the OBD2 motors and ecus (ex dx lx cx). I ran it on my 96 civic dx with an z6 motor with the OBD1 ecu.

I know he said its calibrated for 310's.

I wanted to know if it will RUN on stock 240's.

Relax a little bit, its not the end of the world.

That's not what I said though. There not calibrated for 310's. Their calibrated for stock 240cc honda injectors.

He isn't referring to you, he was referring to this earlier post:

He is referring to a blue box meant for a OBD2 car though, from reading, yours is no longer OBD2.
